Standing up new followers

In Leader-based replication, standing up a follower typically employs a snapshot and a log:

1. A consistent snapshot of the database state is captured from any up-to-date node.
2. The snapshot is loaded onto the new follower.
3. New follower reads the replication log to catch up on changes since snapshot.
