Kibana is the user-facing component of the Elastic (ELK) stack. Its primary purpose is data visualization. It contains interfaces for
- Creating and viewing interactive dashboards
- Searching, filtering, and analyzing logs
- Administering the ELK stack visually
- Triggering PagerDuty alerts (via the Kibana Alerting Framework)
As with the rest of the ELK stack, the basic version is free and contains all the features needed by smaller organizations.
